Stanwick Taekwon-Do kicks off partnership with Northamptonshire Community Foundation-managed Harry’s Fund to support youngsters in Northamptonshire

Stanwick Taekwon-Do is excited to announce a powerful partnership with Harry’s Fund, a charitable initiative managed by Northamptonshire Community Foundation supporting young people with neurodiverse conditions across Northamptonshire.
The club, co-founded and run by John and Gemma Bowman-Yard, is gearing up to raise funds for the cause with a fundraising quiz on 5th April 2025 and a summer event later in the year, with all proceeds going directly to Harry’s Fund. Speaking with Gemma, she said: "At Stanwick Taekwon-Do, we believe in empowering young people, especially those facing challenges. Supporting Harry’s Fund feels like a natural fit for us, and we’re thrilled to raise money for such an important cause. As well as raising funds we will be encouraging our SEND youngsters to apply for a Harry’s Fund bursary – this is a fund and a cause we really believe in and want to get behind.”
Stanwick Taekwon-Do recognises the alignment between its mission of promoting inclusion, growth, and wellbeing through martial arts and the work Harry’s Fund is doing to support SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) young people.
Jessica Pilkington, Harry’s mum, said: “It’s hard to believe that Harry would have been 26 this month and when Stanwick Taekwon-Do reached out to us it really touched our hearts. It means so much to know that Harry’s legacy is helping others, and we’re incredibly grateful to the club for their kindness and enthusiasm."
Harry’s Fund offers bursaries of up to £250 to Northamptonshire-based young people aged 11-21 with neurodiverse conditions such as autism and ADHD. Managed by Northamptonshire Community Foundation, the fund provides financial assistance and small grants to support the education, health, and wellbeing of its recipients. Young people are encouraged to think about how the funding could best benefit them – and it could be as simple as a bus pass, gym membership, new bicycle, clothes, a trip out or other personal needs that could make a positive difference in their lives.
