Becoming a Friend of the Foundation is easy; anyone who sets up a standing order has the option of becoming a Friend of the Foundation. Click here to sign up.

Our Friends form a giving circle of like-minded local residents who are passionate about supporting and giving back to their community; we pool all of our Friends' donations together to create a large funding pot which is used to award grants to local charities and community organisations.

At funding panels, groups will pitch their projects to you so you can gain an in-depth understanding of the current and future needs within Northamptonshire, and the impact your support has when it comes to tackling these issues. 

How it works

Each year, our Friends of the Foundation will vote on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal (UN SDGs) they wish to support within the county. These goals include Zero Poverty, Good Health and Wellbeing, and Gender Equality. For a full list of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, click here.

At an annual grants panel, local charities and community organisations will pitch their project ideas, which are based on the chosen UN SDG. The panel will have the opportunity to visit these groups in-person, and following these visits will convene over lunch to make collective funding decisions.

Successful groups will present their feedback six months later, showcasing the impact of their grant award.

We make your donation go further.

When you make your donation, we split it three ways;

• Today - 50% of your donation is used immediately to support local need.
• Tomorrow - 50% of your donation is invested into the Friends of the Foundation endowment fund, so we can make grants long into the future.
• Our development – Your gift aid and corporate support contributes towards the Foundation’s own charitable purposes.
