Surviving Winter

Did you know?
362 vulnerable older people aged over 65 died in Northamptonshire last winter from causes directly linked to the cold and poor living conditions.

The winter can be one of the hardest seasons to get through for the most vulnerable in our community due to social isolation and the cold. Many older people die in freezing temperatures, every degree drop below 5C sees a 3.4 per cent increase in deaths.

Help put a STOP to winter deaths in Northamptonshire and donate to Surviving winter.

With your donations we aim to work to reduce the number of older vulnerable people in Northamptonshire who die from the cold and poor living conditions to 0. During last winter overall the Foundation supported 9533 vulnerable people, distributing funds directly to individuals as well as local organisations dedicated to helping the elderly and vulnerable within the county.  However, we need to do more, no one should be left struggling.

Please donate to our Surviving Winter Appeal

It’s clear that we need decisive action to tackle this problem head on. This winter we are calling on everyone to support this vital appeal to ensure we can help even more of the most vulnerable in our communities and remind them that they are not forgotten.

Please also share your support for the appeal and post your #SurvivingWinterScarfie on social media. All you need to do is upload a photo of yourself wearing your scarf and share on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram tagging @NorthantsCF and using the hashtag #SurvivingWinterScarfie.
