Northamptonshire Community Foundation established its Surviving Winter Fund six years ago, headed up by our former-Chair David Laing and his wife Mary who feel very strongly about this cause. The Fund encourages all those who can afford to forego their Winter Fuel Payment (WFP) to instead donate it to support older people in our county for whom the WFP is not nearly enough, making them most at risk during the cold winter months.
Grants made from this fund will be awarded to groups and organisations supporting vulnerable older people aged 65+ and families.
A Surviving Winter grant is for a project activity between £250 and £5,000. The Surviving Winter Grants Panel meets on a monthly basis to allow work to take place each winter. We accept applications between August and February for winter activity.
Grants awarded by the Surviving Winter Fund will meet at least two of these five aims:
• Keep homes warm
• Dress for warmth
• Stay warm at night
• Eat well
• Keep active
Applications that do not meet these aims will not be considered.
Please apply via this form: Surviving Winter Application Form
The Surviving Winter Fund is an online application form - if you do not provide your supporting documents at the online stage then we require a hard copy. For further information on this fund see guidelines.
